Dr. Matt Parsons

radio3Dr. Matt Parsons has been a fitness enthusiast since he was first introduced to the world of competitive power lifting in 1994.  Dr Matt spent 10 years in his sport of choice and as a result qualified and competed in the National Championships in USA Powerlifting several times, won the Texas State Championship in his weight class multiple times and coached others on to do the same.  “Powerlifting taught me much about fitness and the idea of pushing one’s self beyond our own perceived limitations.”  This combination led him to challenge himself as an entrepreneur opening his chiropractic office in 2006 where he also consults his patients in nutrition and physical fitness.  Dr. Matt no longer competes in powerlifting but continues his love of weight training and shifted his competitive edge to training for outdoor sports.  Matt is passionate about pushing the human body to achieve optimal levels of health and wellness through exercise and nutrition and seeks to share his knowledge to help others.  “I made the statement years ago that I feel my purpose in life, and my passion is to help people go far beyond what they think they are capable of.  One of the things I love most about training , consulting and coaching people is seeing them become inspired enough to make progress because when they catch this inspiration, they tend to start knocking down walls that have been holding them back.  I believe that God’s desire for us is to become more in this life.  In order to do that, we have to push ourselves beyond those walls and then show others it can be done for them as well.”

Penny Parsons

ps_2010_12_16___13_16_08Penny Parsons is also a fitness enthusiast and believes that exercise is what you make of it, and therefore “should not be a drag”, but instead thoroughly enjoyed.  “The body does not know and really does not care what type of exercise you do, just as long as in the end the body is getting what it needs….So, why not do something fun?”

Penny has always preferred to test the physical abilities of the body against the terrain of “Nature’s Playground”, and therefore has loved to utilize places such as Yosemite, Tahoe, the Grand Canyon and anywhere that can provide a challenge with a beautiful backdrop! “That’s what I call invigorating, and that’s the way it was meant to be done!”

In 2000, while living in California, Penny began instructing Cardio Kickboxing alongside Usama Farage (Multiple times, Mr. San Jose).  That’s when she realized her passion was to help others enjoy reaching their physical capabilities through creativity, fun and sweat!  “It’s not only inspiring to see adults achieve what they never thought possible, but it brings out the kid in them, and that’s awesome! This fast-paced world and the worries that come with it can really take away the best in us and make us forget how we are supposed to live this life.”

Penny also has a passion for helping seniors and Baby Boomers stay as independent as they can, for as long as possible.  Penny began her senior fitness program called the “Senior Supremes” at a local fitness facility in 2006 and saw how quickly the physical benefits of fun exercise came for this group.  “As we age, getting into and out of the bath tub, climbing stairs or even walking what used to be fair distances can become a challenge.  Well that group now knows those challenges can be overcome and the effects of aging reversed.”
