” I was a marathon runner. Then I was looking to get stronger. I trained with Matt for 11 weeks and added 20lbs with body fat down 5%. My squat went from 260 to 440lbs. Deadliest from 275lbs to 440lbs. And my bench press from 250lbs to 300lbs. Thanks Matt for the training and the knowledge that I will carry for a lifetime.”

“Dr. Matt and Penny Parsons:
Just a note to let you know how much I appreciate your “Designing A Champion” boot camp. As you know, other than riding my bike, I’ve never been one to go too far out of my way to exercise on my own…In fact, before I started attending your sessions, I pretty much followed Zig Ziglars tongue-in-cheek exercise program. He says he would just fill the bath tub with water and then pull the stopper and try to fight the current as the water drained from the tub!
Well, seriously, at 62, I decided it was time to get with it and started attending your workout Thursday and Saturday sessions at Clark Mansion here in Taylor. Glad I did! I’ve been attending for some time now and I’m sure you are, as the old saying goes, adding “more years to my life – and more life to my years”. It was a bit strenuous at first using muscles I haven’t used for some time (and probably didn’t even know I had) but I can tell the workouts are definitely making a difference. I have more strength and stamina and, being a vocalist in a singing duo, I know breathing in all that fresh air is great for my lungs – and my performances.
You two make a great couple and your professionalism, preparation, detailed instruction and the personal attention you give to each participant to keep us on track are appreciated by all who attend. I wish you both the very best of luck with your “boot camp” – and all your future endeavors. I’ll spread the word. Feel free to put this note on your web site if you wish. See you at “boot camp” next week!”
“Designing A Champion. Now everyone wants to be a champion, right? I guess I was at my lowest point in my life when I found new friends with Matt and Penny Parsons. They are true champions in every way.
I needed a lift and that is what I got. I have been widowed since November 12, 2006. I weighed about 183 pounds when I first started 1 ½ years ago. Thanks to a friend of mine, I was invited to Clark Mansion in Taylor,TX to see if I liked what I saw.
Well, here it is May 2012, and weighing in at 163 pounds and 3 sizes smaller, I’m having the time of my life. I have the energy of at least the later 50’s(best I can remember) and guess what, I just celebrated my lucky 7’s. Yep! Double 7. Wonderful birthday! I just celebrated with my family and friends.
I’ve been playing the bongos with the Golden Oldies Show(That’s Larry Nichols and Johnny Youngblood) in Taylor and many nursing homes for the last year. Just recently, I renewed my love of tap dancing. Ann Miller(I am not) but it keeps the old “bootie” moving. I love to sing and dance and have fun.
Thanks to the Boot Camp and the Designing A Champion team of Matt and Penny, it is now possible again, and my life is great, and the many friends I have met in the last 1 ½ years are inspiring and wonderful. Don’t let age stop you from having fun; after all, it’s all numbers and who’s counting? Happy trails to you!”
